Bermondsey looks worth a bet at 15/2 in the 3.50 at Newcastle today now dropped in class.
Luca Cumani’s charge looked one to keep onside when bolting up by 5 lengths on seasonal reappearance in a class 3 contest at Sandown off a mark of 82 and went on to post a solid effort two starts later when a 1 1/3 length fourth of 12 to Baydar in a class 2 affair at the same venue off a revised rating of 92.
He has failed to trouble the judge in two subsequent outings, but they have both been in class 2 contests and Bermondsaey has not been unduly knocked about.
The four-year-old now drops back down to class 3 company off a rating of 91 and judged by the manner of his Sandown success in the grade that should enable him to be really competitive.
Bermondsey is also a rare runner the the track for the stable (1 win from 2 runners in the past 12 months) and the yard is in good form and operating at a strike rate of 25% for the month.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Bermondsey (15/2 Stan James – BOG)
