Class-dropping Sword Exceed an each-way play at 14/1

Now dropped back in grade, Sword Exceed looks worth an each-way play at 14/1 in the 7.30 at kempton today.

This Ivan Furtado trained five-year-old was last sucessful in a class 5 over 7f at Chelmsford back in May when shpwing plenty of pace before running on well to beat Zapper Class by 2 1/2 lengths in a 14-runner affair off a mark of 72.

He got put up to 79 for that has mainly been campaigned in class 3 and 4 company since and now drop back into a class 5 off a rating of 75.

That should enable him to be very competitive on the pick of his form as his previous win prior to Chelmsford had come off 82.

Sword Exceed also has an excellent record in the grade having won three times and been placed once in it from six starts.

He also now drops back to 6f over which he has a 28 per cent strike rate having won twice and been placed once in seven outings over it.

The stable also boast a healthy strike rate of 25 per cent with their runners at the track in the past 12 months.

Adam Kirby also now gets the leg up for the first time and that is another plus as he has ridden a winner and two placed from four rides when teaming up with the yard in the same period.
