Clonusker can cash-in on handy mark

Clonusker looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and decent value at 13/2 to land the spoils in the 3.00 at Huntingdon today.

Linda Jewell’s gelding opened his account in good style over course and distance back in January 2014 when staying on strongly to score by 14 lengths.

Clonusker then defied a 14lb rise in the weights to follow-up at Fontwell, and was far from disgraced when fifth of 11 at the same venue off a mark of 94.

The seven-year-old suffered an injury in the latter and has subsequently been on the sidelines for 630 days.

Although pulled-up on return to action over course and distance back in November, Clonusker showed up well until weakening two from home as lack of fitness took its toll.

He then built on that last time out when a solid 2 length second to Triple Chief over CD, travelling well for most of the  contest until beinng headed close home.

Altough up 3lb for that run, hsi revised mark of 88 is the saem as when last successful, and if taking another step forward he looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Clonusker (13/2 Stan James, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
