Cockney ready to Rock

Rockme Cockney is potentially thrown-in at the weights in the 4.40 at Kempton and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1.

Jeremy Gask’s filly did not progress as expected after a highly promising debut over course and distance last June, but the form of that race makes her look very well treated if ready to go after a break.

The daughter of Cockney Rebel kept on well that day to be beaten 2 1/2 lengths by John Gosden’s Hawfinch after showing plenty of pace and leading inside the last.

The winner, who went on to finish firth to Lily’s angel in a listed race at Newmarket and third in a similar contest at Sandown won by Kinetica, is now officially rated 88 and that makes the selection look well-in off just 65.

The useful Raul Da Silva also takes another 5lb off her back and she is certainly good enough to win this if anywhere back to near her best.

The big question is obviously whether she will be fit enough to do herself justice after 138 days on the sidelines, but this doesn’t look the strongest of contests and she is simply too well treated to ignore.

To me there is no way that she should be available to back at double figure odds, and at 10/1 she looks cracking each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Rockme Cockney (10/1 BetVictor, Boylesports – BOG)
