Cooper’s can be the punters Friend at Sedgefield

Coopers Friend looks to have plenty going for him in the 2.10 at Sedgefield today.

Michael Smith’s nine-year-old was last successful over course and distance back in August 2016 when landing a class 4 contest by 15 lengths off a mark of 112.

He backed that up with a solid second off 119 but after being put up to 121 has largely struggled since.

However, that has resulted in the handicapper cutting him plenty of slack and he is now able to race off just 92.

That is a career-low and he now drops back down into class 5 company having competed in a class 2 last time out.

Cooper’s Friedn has won once and been placed once from two runs in the grade and with Richie Mclernon in the saddle this looks a good opening for hm to belatedly get back on the scoresheet.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Cooper’s Friend (9/2 Stan James – BOG)
