Course specialist Claude Carter can cash-in on lenient mark

Claude Carter has become dangerously well-treated and is of major interest at 7/2 in the 5.15 at Market Rasen today.

Alistair Whillans charge is a dual course and distance winner, and the last of those successes came off a mark of 107 in September 2012.

The gelding wnet on to finish third on two occasions at this venure last year off 97 and 100, and now races off just 93.

That is a massive 14lb lower than when last successful and gives Claude Carter outstanding claims at the weights – especially now returned to the track which he reserves his best for.

The 10-year-old has won and been placed twice in four starts at the venue, and also has underfoot condition to suit and a jockey who takes another 5lb of his back.

Having been rated as high as 113, Claude Carter is now potentially thrown-in off 20lb lower and this looks a golden opportunity for him to get back to winning ways.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Claude Carter (7/2 Betfred, Boylesports – BOG)
