Course specialist Picansort worth a punt at 12s

Course specialist Picansort makes plenty of each-way appeal at 12/1 in the 3.10 at Lingfield today.

Peter Crate’s gelding is a five timer winner at the track, including once over this afternoon’s trip of 6f, with his last success coming on his penultimate start where he ran on strongly to beat Triple Dream by a head off a mark of 84 over 5f.

He then backed that up with a solid effort to finish a 2 3/4 length sixth of 10 to Forest Edge in a comnpetitive class 2 contest over 5f at this venue last time out off 87.

The seven-year-old didn’t enjoy any luck in running that day as he coming with what looked a good run when getting bumped and hampered a furlong from home.

To me he finished with plenty of running left in him, and granted a clear passage he would have gone very close.

He now gets into this off the same mark of 87, and that gives him every chance of being bang on the premises at the business end of affairs if getting the breaks at the right time.

The son of Piccolo does have a high draw to overcome in stall 10, but that should not be a problem given his run style as he needs to be dropped in and delivered late on the scene.

This contest should also be run at a strong pace which will suit, and with Jimmy Quinn in the saddle he looks cracking each-way vcalue at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Picansort (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
