Craggaknock looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and  a tasty each-way punt at 10/1 in the 3.10 at Newcastle today.

Mark Walford’s gelding started 2015in terrific form, scoring at Thirsk by 2 3/4 lengths off 71 before defying a 6lb rise in the weights to score at Haydock by a head.

Craggaknock was then given a break before posting a really solid effort at Nottingham when running on well to finish a 1 1/2 length fourth of 13 to Rhombus in a class 3 contest off 81.

He also ran really well in three outings last season in competitive contests, including when fourth of 16 in a class 2 at Thirsk off a rating of 82.

Craggaknock is now able to race in this lower grade class 4 contest off the same mark and comes into the race having scored twice over hurdles before finishing fifth in the Rossington Main at Haydock last time out behind the classy Neon Wolf.

He also boasts a 44% strike rate in the grade having won four of his nine starts in it and also been placed on two occasions.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Craggaknock (10/1 Betfred – BOG)
