Dantari ready to deliver at Ffos Las

Dantari has dropped to a dangerous looking mark and at 7/1 rates the best bet on the card at Ffos Las today (3.00).

Evan Williams charge has not win since landing a handicap hurdle at Chepstow back in October 2009, but that win came off a mark off 119 and he is now 4lbs lower.

The six-year-old has also run well since then to be placed off marks as high as 130, and ran a cracker off 128 when finishing sixth of 28 to Carlito Brigante in the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

He also shaped with plenty of promise on his seasonal reappearance when up with the pace for a long way before fading to finish 13th of 23 to Decoy in a hot race at Prestbury Park.

The gelding was heavily supported at long odds that day, suggesting the connections believe he is now well treated enough to gain an overdue success.

If that’s the case then the handicapper may have taken a real chance in dropping him 4lb since that run to just 115 – the lowest  he has raced off for over two years.

Today’s contest is also far less competitive than the races he has been competing in, and he must go close if running up to anywhere near his best.

At 7/1 he looks overpriced and an each-way steal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Dantari (7/1 Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
