Jackpot Adrian Lewis to return to the World Championship

Adrian Lewis is one of the all time greats in British darts – one of only three men to win back to back World Championships (along with Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson) – as well as a UK Open Winner and European Championship winner and four times winner of the World Cup partmering with his mentor The Power Phil Taylor

Lewis was a force to be reckoned with during an era where darts was at his peak – competing and beating the likes of Michael Van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Gary Anderson, Raymond Van Barneveld and more – Lewis was a player blessed with a natural skill and ability that was honed by the greatest player of all time in Phil Taylor

However, in recent years Adrian Lewis has but his darts on the backseat and focussed on the needs of his family. So, whilst new darts fans, who have only just become aware of the sport thanks to the Luke Littler effect will not have heard of or seen prime Adrian Lewis – yet that could all be about to change

In a recent interview with MDA in Whitby we put Adrian Lewis under the spotlight with regards to his career and where he is with darts right now

Adrian Lewis has recently signed to MODUS sports management and is making appearances on the exhibition circuit to meet and greet the fans – yet he still has a tour card and still has talent oozing out of every pore – so we asked him what the future of his career is, is retirement on the horizon or will we be seeing the biggest comeback in darts?

‘at the end of the day I have earned that card in the first place, so why give it to somebody when have earnt it myself…so I don’t know I might even go to the World Championship Qualifiers yet’

Its clear that Lewis has nothing left to prove and (quite rightly) has put the needs of his family first before his career – which has only endeared him to the public even more. However, Lewis is on the comeback trail and appearing in more and more exhibitions and is looking at the MODUS Super Series in 2025 – and after seeing him in action it is clear the talent and ability is still there for all to see, essentially Lewis is still World Class and one of the best players out there.

So, will we see the biggest comeback in darts at the World Championships?

‘The only way I am going to go back is if my mind is 100%, and I can go 100% at it. I don’t want to be one of them to just be a journeyman, turn up there and get beaten – If I turn up there, I want to do it properly’

The prospect of a returning Adrian Lewis is mouth watering to darts fans – Always an entertaining player who knows the pressures of the World Championship and playing in finals and winning them.

Jackpot in the world championship offers fresh match ups for darts fans on the biggest stage of them all – Lewis v Humphries, Lewis v Littler, Lewis v Aspinall etc

Plus, would you actually bet against him going all the way and winning the thing?
