Desert Morning put in an improved effort last time out and looks decent value at 8/1 on handicap debut in the 3.10 at Wolverhampton today.

The filly didn’t show much in three runs for David Simcock, but there was much more to like about her first start for trainer Anthony Carson when third of 5 to Dutch Golden Age over 6f at Kempton earlier in the month.

She made headway two out to have every chance before being uanble to quicken and eventually be beaten 4 lengths

The winner is a 77 rated animal, and the second home Picket Line has come out and won since and is now rated 73.

That gives the form a solid look and suggests that Desert Morning may have got in lightly off an opening mark of 59.

She is also entitled to strip much fitter for the outing, her first in 281 days, and the step up to 7f looks sure to suit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Desert Morning (8/1 BetVictor, Paddy Power, William Hill – BOG)
