Dolphin ready to Rock at Ayr

Dolphin Rock has slipped to a career-low mark and is strongly fancied at 9/2 to take advantage and score an overdue success in thr 5.40 at Ayr today.

The gelding hasn’t scored since landing a class 4 contest at Chester in May 2013 off a mark of 78 when trained by Brian Ellison, but didn’t run some solid races last year.

Now in the care of Richard Ford, the eight-year-old is able to race off just 55 in this class 6 contest having shaped as if returning to form in his last two starts.

That gives him outstanding claims at the weights on the pick of his form, and connections are alos now fitting Dolphin Rock with the blinkers for the first time.

If they have the desired effect there is little doubt that Dolphin Rock is weighted to take all the beating, and another plus is that he is versatrile as regards ground.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Dolphin Rock (9/2 BetVictor, Paddy Power, Stan James, Sky Bet – BOG)
