Englishman value at 12s to go one better

Englishman ran very well when runner-up last time out, so off an unchanged mark looks decenet value at 12/1 to go one better and land ths spoils in the 7.15 at Wolverhampton today.

This Milton Bradley trained nine-year-old landed back-to-back class 4 contests last year at Windsor and Gooodwood, scoring off marks of 77 and 79 respectively.

He also ran very well in a class 3 at Neamarket whne a neck runner-up to Ice Lord off 80.
The veteran has been hit and miss this year, but did run well when a 3 1/2 length third to Rawayyat at Lingfield in July off 63 and when a 1 1/2 length third at Chelmsford five starts back off 55.

Englishman is now able to race off 52, a massive 28lb lower than when last victorious and a career-low.

It makes him a player from a handicapping perspective in this class 6 affair.

He also shaped better than the bare result two starts at Kempton when tanking along on the heels of the leaders and looking to hold every chance two from home before weakening to finish a 5 1/2 length sixth of 12 to Mercers.

Englishman has since gone down all guns blazing over course and distance 14 dasy ago when keeping on well to finish a length sceond of 10 to Katherine Place.

The winner went into the race in form having won and finishhed second in her previous two starts, whilst the third home Harry’s Ridge is an unexposed sort who was having just his fourth start and was punted into 3/1 favourite on handicap debut.

That gives the form a solid look in relation to this same grade affair.
