Eye Of The Storm looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and decent each-way value at 22/1 in the 4.15 at York today.

The gelding is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a Listed contest over 2m at Sadnwon back in 2015 off an official rating of 102 when trained by Amanda Perrett.

However, he has run well to make the frame on four occasions this year since joining Keith Dalgleisg, including when a head runner-up at Ripon off 90 and a solid 1 3/4 length third to Euchen Glen at Ayr three starts back off 93.

The form of the latter reads well as the winner has gone on to land the ultra-competitive John Smith’s Cup, and Eye Of The Storm now meets the runner-up that day Northwest Frontier on 5lb better terms.

He has had excuses in two subsequent runs but has been dropped 3lb as a result and is now able to race off 90 again.

That should enable him to be very compettive and he has won twice and been placed twice from nine starts over the 2m trip of this. With the stable amongst the winners of late he has more goig for hinm than his odds suggest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Eye Of The Storm (22/1 bet365 – BOG)
