FA Cup final preview: It’s Gunner be easy for Arsenal

Arsenal look worthy 4/7 shots to beat Aston Villa in today’s FA Cup final at Wembley (5.30pm KO, Live on BBC1).

The Guneers have won 22 and lost just three of the last 34 matches in all competitions against Villa, and the pair have met 10 times in the FA cup final with Arsenal winning seven and the Villans three.

Arsenal also have a terrific record in the competition, and this will be thier 19th final – a record for any team.

They have won a joint-high 11 FA Cup finals, and five of those successes have come under manager Arsene Wenger, and are the current defending champions.

Although Arsenal made it hard for themselves in the semi-final against Reading when prevailing in extra time, they had previously beaten Manchester United in good style at Old Trafford and face a side who have had a far easier passage to the final.

Arsenal also have a far stronger and classy squad than Villa, and on all known form should prove far too strong for their rivals and get the job done in 90 minutes.

Indeed, they have already beaten Villa 3-0 and 5-0 during this campaign and backing them to win again to nil at a standout 8/5 with Paddy Power looks well worth a punt.

Olivier Giroud has scored in each of his last three appearances against Villa and has an excellent FA Cup record.

The Frenchman has scored seven and assisted four goals in his 13 FA Cup appearances, and thatmakes him the obviously play in the goalsscorer markets.

He can be backed at a top priced 5/1 with Ladbrokes to net the opener and 13/10 with bet365 and Paddy Power to net anytime. Both make plenty of appeal from a punting perspective.

In the correct score market I am going to suggest a small split stakes on Arsenal winning 3-0 or 4-0 at odds of 11/1 and 22/1 respectively with Ladbrokes.
