Farl looks worth an each-way wager 10/1 from what looks a potentially handy mark in the 5.20 at Chelmsford today now fitted with the blinkers for the first time. This Ed Walker trained filly failed to trouble the judge in three qualifying runs to get a mark but did shape quite nicely in the last of those over 6f when a tenderly handled keeping on 5 3/4 length sixth of eight to Ballyquin. The winner was rated 75 going into that contest and has since run well to finish third in a handicap off the same rating. It makes Farl interesting in this off a mark of just 50 and the daughter of Cape Cross is bred to be better than it. Although last of 11 on handicap debut at Lingfield last month, she lost all chance when stumbling badly at the start having attracted support and been sent off the 11/2 second favourite. Better was clearly expected as she had previously been sent off 25/1, 25/1 and 20/1. It suggests she has been brought along with handicaps in mind and the headgear now goes on for the first time. The 7f trip should also be ideal judged on her aforementioned effort behind Ballyquin and Luke Morris also now partners her for the first time. That’s an eye-catching booking as he has a 25 per cent strike rate when teaming up with the yard in the past 12 months having ridden five winners and seven placed from 20 rides.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Farl (10/1 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG)
