Frankie to strike on Grandeur

The improving Grandeur looks to hold outstanding claims in the 5.00 at Royal Ascot and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1.

Jeremy Noseda’s charge has shown progressive form this season, showing a good turn of foot to easily beat Trader Jack by 2 1/4 lengths at Goodwood before just being touched off by Wrotham Heath at Epsom last time out.

He was beaten just a neck in the latter, and was arguably unlucky as he was drawn out wide and had to be drop in before making a swooping move from the back with what looked like a winning run.

In the end the effort to make up the ground from a poor position took its toll and he could find no extra near the finish, but he was attempting to give the winner 6lbs and now meets him on level terms.

That should be enough for him to turn the tables, and his profile is arguably more upward that Sir Henry Cecil’s colt who was bouncing back from a couple of below par efforts that day.

In my book there is no way that he should be available to be backed at bigger odds than that rival, and I definitely think that he is up to making his mark in this grade.

With Frankie Dettori in the saddle I think he will take the world of beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Grandeur (7/1 Betfred, Hills – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
