Froch-in Hell

WBA and IBF world super-middleweight champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch successfully defended his titles last night at Wembley Stadium in front of a sell-out 80,000 crowd by spectaularly KNOCKING OUT Londoner “Saint” George Groves in the 8th round.

Froch who is nearly 37 years old pulled off a career best RIGHT HAND to flatten the 26 year old Groves at 2.35 of the 8th, up to that point the fight was neck and neck but by the 7th you could see that Groves was looking to tire and Froch seized his moment and landed the BIG RIGHT to the jaw of the challenger.

The fight that was billed UNFINISHED BUSINESS after the conroversial end to their epic first battle last November in manchester, when ref Howard Foster called a halt to the action in the 9th giving Froch the win after a shakey start where he got dropped by Goves in the 1st round. But after tonight this business is finished once and for all.

After the electrifying fight the loser Groves told DAILY SPORT Boxing”I got it wrong, I left myself got caught by a big shot” adding”Well done to Carl Froch this is now his night and I must go back to the drawing board.”

An elated FROCH said”If I’d lost this one I’d have retired and I didn’t want to go out on a loss,

“So I got to work and landed the best punch of my career,

“This is why I’m a 4 time world champion and George Groves did himself pround in there tonight.”
