Get Ontoawinner at Ripon with class-dropping Fazza

Fazza is strongly fancied at 4/1 to take advantage of a drop in grade and get back to winning ways in the 4.50 at Ripon today.

Edwin Tuer’s gelding was in good heart last season when winning twice over a mile at Pontefract, with the last of those successes coming off a mark of 72 in a class 4 handicap where he stayed on strongly in the hands of today’s rider Kevin Stott to beat Ralphy Boy with more in hand than the winning margin of 1 3/4 lengths suggests.

Fazza also now gets into this lower grade class 5 contest off just 2lb higher, and that gives him major claims at teh weights.

The son of Sulamani, who is owned by the highly successful Ontoawinner syndicate,  has also posted some solid efforts this season including when a strong finishing fifth of 18 to Eurysthues in a class 4 contest at York, where he didn’t get the clearest of runs and was beaten just 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 75.

He was also far from disgraced on his penultiamte start when seventh of 17 to Osteopathic Remedy at in class 3 Thirsk Summer Cup, and although slightly below par last time out at Pontefract this is a far easier assigment and everything looks in place for him to get back on the winning trail.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Fazza (4/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
