Your Gifted weighted to strike at Lingfield

Your Gifted is on a handy mark in the 2.30 at Lingfield today and is strongly fancied at 5/1 to score an overdue success.

The mare was a five-time winner in 2011 when trained by Patrick Morris with the last of those successes coming in a class 2 contest at Epsom where she beat Moorhouse Lad by a head off a mark of 85.

She went up 6lb for that win to a mark of 91 and was far from disgraced off it when finishing 8th of 13 to Zero Money at Haydock where she showed plenty of pace to chase the leaders before weakening approaching the last to be beaten just over 5 lengths.

The daughter of Trans Island then disappointed in hre next two starts and was subsequently off the track for 714 days before reappearing at Chester back in August after moving to join Lisa Williamson.

Although well beaten that day and in her next five starts her handicap mark has fallen as a result and she shaped as if returning to form in her last four runs.

In particular she ran well to finish runner-up to My Time at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start, and then backed that up with a solid fourth over 5f at the same venue last time out behind 1’ll Be Good in an 11-runner class 5 affair off today’s mark of 55.

She was slowly away that day before running on late in eye-catching style, and it was a run which suggested that she ready to take advantage of her massive fall in the weights.

The seven-year-old now drops back into class 6 company, and from a good draw in stall 4 she looks sure to take all the beating for her Cheshire-based handler.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Your Gifted (5/1 bet365, BetVictor, Hills – BOG)
