Glasses Up has lots going for him at Haydock

Glasses Up is on a lenient mark at present, so having caught the eye last time out rates the standout punt on today’s card at Haydock (4.30).

That run came over 1m 2f in a class 3 at Ayr where after being slowly-away the Mike Smith trained fourth year-old stayed on strongly from off the pace to finish a never nearer 1 3/4 length fourth of nine to Nicholas T off a rating of 81.

It was an effort which suggested he was well worth a crack at the 1m 4f trip of this and ready to go in again at any time.

Glasses Up has since been dropped 1lb to 80 and that is just 1lb hugher than when last successful in a class 4 at Ayr 13 months ago.

He went on to finish runner-up in a class 2 at Beverley off 83, so is clearly well-treated on the pick of his form.

Glasses Up also now drops back down into class 4 company, on which he is 2-4, and has underfoot condtions to suit.

So taking everything into account, he looks to have lots going for him in this and a bold bid to get back to winning ways looks assured.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Glasses Up (5/1 BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
