Go get the 10s about Gabbiano

Gabbiano has become dangerously well-treated and makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 4.55 at Ascot today.

Jeremy Gask’s charge did well in 2013 when winning three sprint handicaps, with his last success coming off a mark of 85 over 5f at this venue.

He went on to finish an excellent fourth of 16 to Dungannon, again at this track, off a mark of 89 where after being held-up off the pace he stayed on to be beaten just 1 1/4 lengths.

The seven-year-old drew blank last season, but did run some solid races and now gets into this off just 79.

That is 6lb lower than when last successful, and his lowest rating in two years.

It gives Gabbiano, who has won over course and distance, a huge shout at the weights and he comes into the contest on the back of a promising reappearance run when staying on to finish a never near fifth of 11 to Searchlight at Wolverhampton after getting badly hampered at the start.

That should have blow away the cobwebs and put him spot on for this, and with his young rider taking another 5lb off his back Gabbiano looks handicapped to take all the beating at a track he runs well.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Gabbiano (10/1 bet365 – BOG, enhanced place terms 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5)
