Gosdens Could Serve Up A Winner

I was pleasantly surprised to see a Godolphin owned runner at Newcastle this afternoon when Roland Garros makes a belated return to action for the Gosdens following a promising debut fourth at Wolverhampton back in April.

Running on well that day, the step up in trip here looks ideal, though his long layoff has to be of some concern, though he has been gelded in the meantime which may have been part of the issue.

A 200,000 Guineas son of Nathaniel out of a winning miler, he appears to have inherited his father’s stamina, and if he is ready to roll after eight months off, he could win this under Luke Catton ,who takes a useful 3lb off his back.
