Grab the 7/1 about a Pieceoftheaction at Hexham

Pieceoftheaction posted an improved effort last time out so at 7/1 makes plenty of appeal on handicap debut in the 3.40 at Hexham today.

This six-year-old was a multiple point winner, winning four of his eight starts in that sphere. He has had just four starts under rules since joining Chris Grant and looks to have been brought along with handicaps in mind. In the last of those over course and distance 12 days ago he led two out before sticking to the task well to finish a five length second of 13 to Toi Storey.

The winner has some fair form to his name going into the contest and Pieceoftheaction finished five lengths in front of the third home Robinesse who had an official rating of 106.

Whispering Affair, who was rated 112, finished a further 3 1/2 lengths back in fourth so that makes an opening handicap mark of 111 for Pieceoftheaction look workable.

He appeals as the type that should have plenty more to offer now tackling handicaps and if building on his latest effort looks a big player in this class 4 affair.
