Grand Morning a punt at 15/2 on chase debut

Grand Morning looks on a fair mark on chase debut in the 1.30 at Carlisle today and worth a punt at 15/2.

After shaping with stacks of promise when third on hurdling debut the six-year-old went on tow in his next three starts.

In the sceond of those he showed a good attitude to gamely fend off Cubomania by a neck in a six-runner affair at Ayr.

The runner-up, to whom he was conceding 3lb, has gone to to win five times since over fences with the last of those successes coming at the end of last month in a class 2 contest at Cheltenham where he scored by 2 3/4 lengths off a rating of 134.

That gives the form a solid look and Grand Morning went to to round-off the campaign with a taking display when staying on strongly to land a handicap hurdle at Newcastle by 2 3/4 lengths off 120.

He has since had a wind op and now makes his debut over the larger obstacles off 127. That looks workable judged on his aforemnetioned win over Cubomania and he is bred to be a chaser as he is related to the smart Edwulf.

Grand Morning is also an imposing tupe who looks the sort to keep on progressing and has won twice after a break, so clearly goes well fresh.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Grand Morning (15/2 BetVictor, Ladbrokes, William Hill – BOG)
