Grapevine has plenty going for him at Windsor

Grapevine ran really well last time out and rates a solid bet at 4/1 in the 6.20 at Windsor this evening.

Charlie Hills’ colt didn’t achive much in three maiden runs as a juvenile, but put in a mcuh improved effort on handicap debut when stepped up in trip and finishing close third to Sark at Domncaster last month.

The three-year-old raced close up and stuck to the task well to be beaten just 3/4 of a length, and the runner-up Red Verdon has come out and won since to give the form a boost.

It was an effort which suggested Grapevine was ahead of his mark, and although now 2lb higher a revised rating of 76 should not be beyond him.

He also has the services in the saddle of Michaal Murphy who takes off 3lb with his claim, and if bulding on his latest run looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Grapevine (4/1 Betfred – BOG)
