Groves & Smith set to make history in Jeddah

At the London press launch for the World Boxing Super Series super-middleweight final between WBA super title holder George Groves and Callum Smith, Comosa’s cheif boxing officer Kalle Sauerland told reporters “This fight will make history, becuase this is the first time BIG TIME boxing has been staged in Saudi Arabia.” he went on to say”One day Groves and Smith will be able to tell their children and grandchildren that they were the first to fight in this region.”

The fight takes place in the Saudi capital on Friday September 28 and will be shown LIVE on ITV boxing office here in the UK.

George Groves told DAILY SPORT Boxing “The shoulder injury against Eubank Jr in the semi-final put a spanner in the works and iI believe gave him his only opportunity to win the fight, I’ve been preparing for the final since February and think Smith will be the toughest test so far in the World Boxing Super Series.”

Callumk Smith told Daily Sport Boxing “This is the world title opportunity I’ve been waiting for, I know I’ll have to raise my game, but I ready for it and believe I’ll win the titles and Ali Trophy in Jeddah.”| SlotMob | Pocket Fruity | Bonus Spins | Slot Boss

With both fighters fighting away from home neither will have the advantage stepping into that Jeddah ring on the night and this will be all down to ability and game plan who takes home the Ali Trophy and WBA Super, WBC Diamond and Ring Magazine belts.

Daily Sport says – On experience you’d have to favour Londoner George Groves to win, but after the shoulder injury and with Scouser Callum Smith hungry for victory this could be a lot closer than most experts think.TEAM DAILY SPORT | Boxing Gloves | Baseball Caps | Hoodies
