Haylaman hot stuff at 14/1

Haylaman is back down to his last winning mark in the 4.35 at Doncaster and looks cracking value at 14/1.

David Simcock’s gelding has shaped well in three runs this season, most notably when finishing a close up 5th of 12 to Gatewood on his reappearance at Epsom back in June off a mark of 87 over today’s distance.

He was forced to race wide at the rear that day and got badly bumped when making his more two from home before running on strongly to be beaten just 1 1/2 lengths in the class 2 contest.

It was a cracking effort in a race which has worked out well, and he has since run two solid races at Ascot and Haydock off the same rating and in the same grade.

The handicapper has since dropped him 2lb to a mark of 85, and that is the same as when he was last successful at Newmarket when beating Ellemujie by 1/2 a length.

That gives him every chance at the weights in this, especially as he is now dropping back down into class 3 company.

The bo0king of Paul Hanagan also catches the eye, as he has had 8 rides for the stable in the last 12 months – winning on one occasion and finishing placed on five.

To me he should be single figure odds for this, so at the 14s on offer he looks overpriced and a great each-way play.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Haylaman (14/1 bet365 – BOG, Stan James)
