Heavyweight hero Anthony Joshua reckons Joe Joyce has the chin to go all the way to gold in Rio.

Joshua has jetted out to Brazil to help the London super-heavyweight prepare for the Olympics.

Joshua struck gold in London four years ago and though he’s a professional now and the IBF heavyweight champion, he still spars Joyce at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield and will be swapping blows with him in Rio.

Joshua has chinned all 17 professional opponents so far, but said: “You hit Joe flush and it doesn’t register.

“Joe is very, very strong and has a concrete chin.”

Joyce has proved he’s Great Britain’s No 1 at super-heavyweight after Joshua went pro by winning Commonwealth Games and European Games gold and bronze at last year’s world championship.

He’s also beaten Frazer Clarke four times and ‘The Burton Banger’ will be joining him in Rio as a sparring partner.

Clarke, an unbeaten hero of the British Lionhearts team that reached the World Series Boxing final, fancies the 30 year old’s chance of winning gold.

Clarke said: “Joe is the sort who can give anyone problems. He’s big, strong and relentless. He can put it on you for nine minutes.”
