Home Run a handicap hottie

David Pipe’s Home Run makes his handicap debut in the 3.30 at Hereford and is of serious interest at 11/4.

the gelding was a fair sort on the flat in Germany and has not been knocked about at all in three starts over the obstacles.

All those runs have come in decent contests, two of which were won by leading Cheltenham Festival fancies Grumeti and Darlan.

Although beaten a long way on all his starts, the four-year-old has shown enough to me to suggest that he will be a different proposition now that he is qualified for handicaps and his opening mark of 94 could certainly underestimate his ability.

His shrewd connections are also fitting him with blinkers for the first time, and given their record with similar types a huge run looks on the cards in what looks a very winnable contest.

At 11/4 he rates the best bet of the day.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 5pts win Home Run (11/4- Sky Bet)
