Insolenceofoffice retruned to form when runner-up last time out and looks worth siding with at 5/1 to go one better and land the spoils in the 2.50 at Wolverhampton today.

Richard Ford’s charge was forced to race wide throughout but pressed the leaders until taking up the running at the furlong marker.

He then got headed late on to go down by 1 1/2 lengths and it was a cracking effort from a wide draw given that he was forced to do so muh so soon and forfeited ground on the outside.

Although now 1lb higher in the weights the nine-year-old’s revised rating of 49 is till 5lb lower than when last succesful at Kempton 14 months ago.

It gives him major claims at the weights at a track where he is a three-time winner, twice over this afternoon’s 6f trip.

Insolenceofoffice also goes well for an inexperienced rider and has Connor Murtagh in the saddle who takes off another 7lb with his claim.

He has also bagged a good draw in stall 1 and everything looks in place for him to get back to winning ways.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Insolenceofoffice (5/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
