Irish Lightning couldn’t strike in Manchester

Last night saw Dean “Irish Lightning” Byrne beaten for the first time in his career by Frenchman Frank Haroche Horta at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester. Byrne who took the fight at a days notice after unbeaten Welterweight Frankie Gavin pulled out citing personal problems. In a tough fight and Byrne’s second in a week  he took quite a beating from the Frenchman and his corner did the right thing and pulled him out in the 8th. So TKO victory for Horta and an injured hand for Byrne too from the battled that ensued. This was the Irishman’s 16th fight so he will he will re-group and be back.
