Ivanoe is potentially well-treated on the pick of his form in the 5.05 at Ffos Las today and looks worth a wager at 8/1 to notch his first success.

Michael Blanshard’s colt posted two solid efforts last season, the first of which saw him finish a 1/4 length third to Jebril on soft ground at Chepstow.

He now meets the winner on 6lb better terms, and that should be anough to see him turn the tables.

The son of Haafhd then put in a really solid effort when second of 10 to Divine Angel in a mile maiden at Windsor on soft ground where he kept on well to be beaten a neck off an official rating of 72 and had four subsequent winners in behind.

The three-year-old has also posted sevceral solid efforts this season to finish in the frame, with his run behind Plutocracy in a 1m 4f handicap at Windsor off a mark of 66 the standout pick.

He stayed on well to be beaten 3 lengths that day without ever threatening the easy winner (from whom he was receiving 4lb) but the form of the race looks strong in the context of this contest.

The winner has gone on to score twice since and finished runner-up at Bath yesterday of 90, while the third home Durable Man scored next time up off a mark of 72 and is now rated 86.

That makes the selection look well-treated in this off a career-low mark of 64, and with proven form on soft ground everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Ivanhoe (8/1 Betfred, Boylesports, Stan James – BOG)
