This Saturday’s Heavyweight title fight between Waldimir Klitschko and Jean Marc Mormeck in Dusseldorf is off according to reports circulating in Germany as Klitschko has been admitted to hospital twice over the weekend and he has had the kidney stones removed but suffered from complications, so would not be fit in time for Friday’s weigh-in let alone a World Title defence of his WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF belts on Saturday night.
Bernd Bönte Wladimir’s manager confirmed the cancellation saying “It is true, the fight is cancelled. Wladimir is really sad and devastated, but he suffered from extreme pain.”
