King’s Odyssey value at 9s

King’s Odyssey looks on a handy mark at present and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 1.50 at Cheltenham today.

Evan Williams’ eight-year-old opened his account over the larger obstacles at the ssecond time of asking when easily beating Southfield Vic by 3 1/4 lengths on soft ground at Wincanton.

He was alloted and opening mark of 139 on the back of that success and showed a good attitude to dig deep and follow-up over course and distance when finding plenty to beat Waldorf Salad by 1 3/4 lengths on bottomless ground.

King’s Odyssey was also in the process of running a huge race in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup here in 2016 off a rating of 147 when coming to grief at the 12th.

He coems into this on the back of a solid third of 10 to Guitar Pete in the same race back in December when beaten 7 3/4 lengths.

The asessor has been kind in dropping him 1lb for that effort and King’s Odyssey is now able to race off his last winning makr of 139.

With Barry Geraghty now in the saddle for the first time he looks weighted yo run a huge race on the pick of his form on ground whoch will hold no fears.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Kings Odyssey (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
