King’s Pavilion has shaped nicely in two starts this season and looks worth a wager in in 3.05 at Wethyerby today.
The five-year-old easily landed a class 3 contest im the mud at Carlisle last September by 3 1/2 lengths off a mark of 85 and then went down by just 1/2 a length to Dan Troop in a similar grade affair at Chester under a 6lb penalty.
He also ran well when beaten just a length into fourth behind Century Dream in a class 2 at Haydock off 94.
King’s Pavilion then failed to shine on his final start of the campaogn but there was lots to like about his first run for Jason Ward at Doncaster when sixth of 20 to High Acclaim in the class 2 Spring Mile when keeping on to be beaten just over 7 lengths.
He backed that up with an eye-cathing staing on third of 16 at Ripon aftre being slowly away from unfavourable high draw and finding himslef with a mountain to climb.
That run suggestde he was nearing his peak and King’s Pavilion and is able to race in this ff an unchanged rating of 94.
That looks workable judged on his aforementioned run behind Century Dream.
