King’s Slipper taken to cash-in on class drop

Now eased in grade, King’s Slipper looks worth a wager at 9/1 in the 3.20 at Wolverhampton today.

This Clive Cox trained four-year-old is a three time winner, twice on the all-weather polytrack surface, and was last successful at Kempton back in April when landing a class 4 by 3/4 o a length off a makr of 87.

He got put up to 91 for that and has failed to trouble the judge in four subsequent outings.

However they have all been in class 2 company and King’s Slipper shaped better than the bare result last time lout at Chelmsford when a 5 /4 length fifth of nine yo Bin Battuta off 89.

After being held-uop last, he was forced to make a move out wide and kept on without ever threatening under 3lb claimer William Cox.

King’s Slipper has since been dropped 2lb, so is now abke to race off his last winning mark again.

It gives him a big shout at the weights now dropped into class 3 company and another plus is that Adam Kirby, who has ridden hom to all three of his successes, is now back in the plate.
