Course and distance winner Lady Gibraltar takes a drop in class in the 5.25 at Goodwood and looks cracking value at 10/1.
Alan Jarvis’ filly scored three times last season, with her last success coming over CD in a class 3 contest where she dead-heated with the progressive Jwala off a mark of 83.
The runner-up has since gone on to develop into a listed performer who is officially rated 103, and that makes the form looks strong in the context of this contest.
The selection then went on to finish a fair fifth of 15 to Kingsgate Choice at Ascot off 88, and has shaped really well in her last three runs this season.
The first of those came in a class 2 contest at York where she kept on well to finish a 3/4 length third of 19 to Kingsgate Choice, and she followee that up with a decent 6th of 14 to Magical Macey at Newcastle in a similar grade affair before being headed close home and beaten just 1/2 a length when third of 15 to Secret Assett in another class 2 contest at York on her latest start earlier in the month off 87.
Those runs suggest that she is at the top of her game and ready to go in again at any time, and although now 2lb higher and running off 89 she now drops back in grade into class 3 company.
Given that she is just 5lb higher than her last success and has the services of the useful 5lb claimer Michael J Murphy in the saddle that makes her look fairly treated in my eyes, and the fact that she has course and distance winning form to her name is another plus.
Everything looks in place for a huge run, and at the odds on offer she looks terrific value for a filly that looks to have plenty going for her.
