Le Capricieux worth a punt at Plumpton

Le Capricieux failed to shine on return to action but looks worth another chance to cash-in on what looks a handy mark in the 2.25 at Plumpton now dropped in class.

Gary Moore’s six-year-old posted some solid efforts last season, most notably when keeping on to finish an 8 length second of 15 to Debece at Kempton.

The winner is a smart sort who has won since and finished third in a Grade 1 at Aintree to be rated 145 and the third home has also won since.

Whatsthatallabout, who came fourth, has gone on to collect on three occasions and the fifth home Barman has won five to be rated 125.

Peruvien Bleu, who came seventh, has also won five since to be rated 129.

That gives the form a strong look and suggests Le Capricieux should be up to winning a race of this nature of his current mark of just 102.

He is also entitled to strip fitter for a below par effort in a class 4 at Sandown 10 days ago, when shaping as if needinbg the run, and this class 5 affair is much weaker.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Le Capricieux (13/2 Betvictor, Paddy Power – BOG)
