Lexington Place is back down to his last winning mark and looks worth siding with at 8/1 in the 4.20 at Redcar today now eased in grade.

Ruth Carr’s gelding was a four-time winner last season, and in the last of those came from off the pace to get up close home and beat Compton Heights by a neck off 84 in a class 4 contest at Musselburgh.

He was then far from disgraced when beaten just a length into fourth in a class 2 affair ay Haydock off 88, and also ran well on return to action at Beverly alst month when fourth in a class 3 off the same rating.

The six-year-old has since shaped a bit better than the bare result suggests in a couple of class 2 contests at Chester and Thirsk, and now drops down to the same grade as when last successful having been dropped a further 2lb to 84.

That gives him a big shout at the weights at a track where he is 1-1, and he should now be spot on to do himself justice.

Daily Sport recommended bet:L 2pts win Lexington Place (8/1 Boylesports – BOG)
