Lindoro looks lovely at 12s

Lindoro was a massive eye-catcher last time out and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 to take advantage of a lenient all-weather mark in the 3.55 at Southwell today.

Kevin Prendergast’s gelding won three times last year, including over today’s course and distance when staying on well to beat Premier League from a mark of 53.

After that victory he had his attentions switched to the turf and ran creditably on several occasions to make the frame from marks of 63 and 64.

The seven-year-old was then given a break, but his return to action at Wolverhampton last month was full of promise.

Held up in midfield, he was keeping on nicely inside the last when finding himself badly short of room and was not knocked about whatsoever once it was clear his chance had gone.

Altough he eventually finished just 9th of 13 to Towy Boy he ran far better than his finishing position suggests and the handicapper has since dropped him a pound to 58.

That means that he is only 5lb higher than his last victory, and given how creditably he has performed of higher marks on the turf in the meantime makes him look very well treated in building on his latest effort.

The return to today’s surface is also a major plus given that he has won twice at the track, and everything looks in place for a huge run.

I had him priced up at no bigger than 8s, so at the 12s on offer he looks overpriced and cracking each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Lindoro (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
