Littlecote Lady looks lovely at 9s

Littlecote Lady shaped nicely on her recent comeback run and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 8.00 at Kempton tonight.

Mark Usher’s mare has notched both her career successes over course and distance, with the last of those coming last February off a mark of 51 where she beat Steel City Boy by 1/2 a length.

She went on to finish runner-up to Almaty Express at Wolverhampton off 53, and also ran well over this CD when beaten just a length into fourth behind Commandingpresence off 54.

The daughter of Byron was then slightly disappointing when 6th of 10 to Bold Ring over 7f here, but it may well have been a case of here having gone off the boil after a number of quick races.

She was then duly given a break and caught the eye on her first start for 234 days at Wolverhampton last month when finishing 5th of 8 to Major Muscari.

Held-up that day, she was driven to chase the leaders two from home but couldn’t quicken and stayed on at the one pace to be beaten 4 lengths.

However she was not knocked about, and it was a promising effort which suggested she would strip much fitter for the outing.

The handicapper has since been quick to drop her 2lb, and she gets into this off 52 – just 1lb higher thna when last successful.

The return to this track and 6f trip also have to be a big pluses, and from a good draw in stall 2 with Charlotte Jenner in the saddle taking 7lb off her back a big run looks on the cards.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Littlecote Lady (9/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
