Liverpool can prove too strong for City slickers

Liverpool take on Man City at Anfield today (1.37pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) in a game which could well go a long way to deciding this year’s title race and the home side look worth siding with at the general 13/10 to beat the Citizens.

The Reds have won all four home meetings against top seven teams so far this season, scoring 14 and conceding just once.

Man City have also only won one of their previous 16 Premier League matches at Anfield (D5,L10), with that win coming back in May 2003.

Liverpool have also been scoring for fun and going for their 10th successive win, and have the SAS striking team of Suarez and Sturridge who have been in irresistable and unstoppable form this season.

The former can be backed at a standout 11/8 with Stan James to score anytime, and that looks too big considering he is as short as 4/5 to do so in a place.

Steven Gerrard also looks worth considering in the same market at 11/4 with Coral and Ladbrokes, as he has scored 12 goals this season from dead ball situations and penalties.

City defenders like to get stuck in, and that could set up plenty of opportunities for Gerrard from the resluting free-kicks.
