London Bridge looks the type to do better in handicaps and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 on his debut in that sphere in the 5.00 at Leicester today.
The colt shaped with bags of promise on his racecourse debut when trained by Mikael Magnusson and finishing 6th of 14 to Secret Number.
He then disappointed on his first start for Jo Hughes when sent off 7/4 and finishing a well beaten 6th of 9 to Premium at Wolverhampton before putting in an eye-catching and much improved effort last time out.
That run came over a mile at Warwick, and after being held-up off the pace he kept on inside the final furlong under a hands and heels ride to finish a never nearer 3 3/4 lengths 7th of 14 to Pleasure Bent.
The son of Arch was not knocked about in any shape or form, and it was an effort which suggested he would have more to offer when upped in trip.
He now gets a near extra two furlongs to tackle, and it would be no surprise to see him leave his maiden form well behind now going handicapping off a mark of just 64.
To me he should be more than capable of winning races of that rating, and with Paul Hanagan in the saddle a huge run looks on the cards.
