Murdanova shaped as if needing the run last time out and looks the one to be on in the 4.40 at Newcastle today now eased in grade.
That effort came in class 4 at Lingfield following 273 days on the sidelines where he made headway from the rear to race close up three from home before being unable to sustain his effort – weakening late on to finish a 4 1/2 length sixth of eight to Highland Acclaim.
That should have blown away the cobwebs and put the Ivan Frutado trained six-year-old spot on for this and he is now able to race off 2lb lower.
A revised rating of 77 is just 2lb higher than when last successful in a class 4 at Wolverhampton last Febnuary where he ran on strongly to beat Rouge Nuage by a length.
It gives him every chance at the weights in this lower grade class 5 affair for a yard that does well with it’s tunners at the venue.
Murdano also has a terrfific strike rate of just over 36 per cent on the Tapeta surface having won four timrd and been placed twice form 11 starts on it, so everything looks in place for a huge run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Murdanova (9/2 Betfair – BOG)
