Something Lucky ran a blinder when runner-up last time out so turned out quickly off an unchanged mark looks worth a bet at 4/1 to go one better and land the spoils in the 6.30 at Wolverhampton today. Mick Appleby’s seven-year-old has won twice and been placed three times in eight starts over course and distance. In the last of those successes in March of last year he came from off the pace and only had to be pushed out to score cosily by 1 3/4 lengths off a rating of 74. He went to notch a six successes for the year when getting up close home to land an eight-runner affair at Chelmsford by a head off 80. Something Lucky is now able to race off 78 and comes into the race having ran a blinder off it three days ago when a head second of six to It’s All A Joke at Chelmsford when slowly away as per the norm before finishing fast and narrowly failing to get up having been forced to switch out wide to get a run. I thought he was an unlucky loser that day but it was still a run which suggested he was ready to strike again switch the yard in form, and the return to this venue a plus, there is nothing not to like about his chances in this.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Something Lucky (4/1 Betfair, Betfred, Coral, Ladbrokes, Sky Bet – BOG)
