Madame can dominate at Windsor

The unexposed Madame St Claire should relish the step up in trip in the 7.55 at Windsor this evening and rates the best bet of the day at 13/2.

Brian Meehan’s filly shaped with plenty of promise in three runs as a juvenile, most notably when well backed on her debut and staying on to be a never nearer sixth of 10 to the classy Questioning over 7f at Newbury.

The daughter  of High Chapparal also ran well in two hot maidens at Newmarket, and shaped promisingly on his her first try in a handicap at Wolverhampton last week when fourth to Zain Princess.

After dwelling and getting bumped at the start she made ground to track the leaders only to lose her place three out before rallying to keep on and be beaten 7 3/4 lengths despite being short of racing room.

That run came over 1m 1f and the way she was finishing off suggested that a step up in trip to today’s 1m 4f would suit.

She certainly looks well treated enough off a mark of 66 to win this, and the fitting of first time blinkers look sure to help sharpen her up.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Madame St Clair (13/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
