Made Of More ready to score

Made Of More gets the drop in trip he has been crying out for on his handicap debut in the 6.50 at Chepstow this evening and looks worth a wager at 12/1.

Roger Ingram’s was too green to do himself justice when slowly away and finishing last behind Dutch Supreme on his debut at Kempton, but then shaped far better next time up at Folkestone when finishing sixth of 11 to Stirring Ballad over 7f.

After going right at the start he showed good speed to quickly take up the running and led until the furling pole where he was hampered and quickly lost his place.

Although beaten 8 1/2 lengths he ran far better than that margin suggests, and the winner has since gone on to land the hat-trick – with the last success coming off a mark of 82 in a competitive handicap at Goodwood.

The selection was then stepped up to a mile on his latest outing on soft ground at Newmarket, and again showed good early pace to track the leaders before getting outpaced two from home and then keeping on again to finish third to Zamdy Man.

To me, the speed he has been showing in his races suggests that a drop back to the 6f he tackles here will see him in a far better light and his opening mark of 64 looks exploitable on his last two efforts.

The son of Auction House looks the type who is open to further progression, and another plus is that he proved he handles give underfoot in his latest run at Newmarket.

He also has a decent draw in stall 10, and in a race where a line can be put through the majority of the runners he looks terrific value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Made Of More (12/1 Hills – BOG)
