Magic Dancer ran a blinder when runner-up last time out and looks worth a bet at 9/2 to go one better and land the spoils in the 3.00 at Ascot today.
The six-year-old showed much improved form last season after joining Kerry Lee, winning on three occasions.
The last of those successes came at Cheltenhanm where he easily a competitive 15-runner amateur riders’ handicap hurdle by six lengths off a mark of 124.
Magic Dancer got put up to 128 for that victory but following wind surgery looked better than ever when a four length second of 16 to Storm Rising on his return to action Cheltenham eight days ago.
Although no match for the very easy winner he stuck to the task well and finished off trongly.
The winner won again in ready fashion at Wetherby yesterday and was clearly well ahead of the assessor. So given that Magic Dancer is able to race in this off an unchanged mark it makes him look well-treated.
It’s therefore no surprise to see connections turn Magic Dancer and with Richard Patrick, who is three from six on him, once again in the saddle taking off another 3lb with his claim Magic Dancer looks the one to be on in this.
