Monumental Man has become dangerously well-treated and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 5.30 at Goodwood today.
The gelding was last successful in a class 3 contest at Epsom 16 months ago when making virtually all and running on strongly to score by 3 3/4 lenhths off a mark of 80.
He got put up to 92 for that runaway success and was from from disgraced off his revised rating when a 4 length seventh of 20 to Desert Law in the class 2 Investec Dash at Epsom.
Altough he has not been at his best this season Monumental Man has run well to finish third on a couple of occasions, including in a class 3 contest three starts back, and is now able to race off a reduced rating of just 70.
That gives him major claims at the weights in this class 5 contest, especially if taking into account thye 5lb claim of Paddy Bradley.
The seven-year-old also has a good draw in stall 12 and if bouncing back to anything like his best is going to take some catching on a course which suits his run-style
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Monumental Man (7/1 Coral – BOG)
